So I have to say that the kids and I are never, Never, NEVER going to build our
own dream home. Yesterday, December 19, 2013, we made our first gingerbread
house. It was lots of fun but we are definitely not experts. First we had the
thought of making two houses. Our house and then Grandma Watkins house. So we
got our house up and then mommy realized that it was harder than she thought
and told them we would just stick with one house. The trees where the most fun
and successful to make. Even Addison was able to put green frosting on the tree
and decorate it with crunch berry ornaments. As you can see from the picture,
though, one tree is not decorated with crunch berries. Somebody had fun pulling
them off and eating them. The trees are just ice-cream cones upside down with
marshmallow stars and crunch berry ornaments. We didn't know how to make a door
or windows for the house so there aren't any. Then we put regular marshmallows
on the roof for snow. That's big snow and Santa on the roof. Then we got life
savers and frosted them to make them look like snowman with candy cane arms and
a hat. It might not be our dream house, like I said and we are definitely not
expert builders but we sure had a lot of fun.
