Our Baby, Tuggle

After just a couple of days in the cone of shame, everyone was feeling bad for Tuggle. In the cone, Tuggle is not able to do much, like eat, play, chew his bones or even sleep comfortable. So Matthew and I tried find other solutions to make it more comfortable. After many trips to PetSmart with exchanges and returns we went through many different options. The doctor suggested getting a inflatable neck brace but we found out that he could lick his stitches. The reason he is wearing the cone of shame. So we looked into other options and after getting permission from the vet we decided to use the doggie diapers to give him freedom.
For awhile the doggie diaper was great. It gave him freedom to chew his bones and eat but it gave him a little to much freedom, because he would wan to jump more and be to wild. Which is something he is not supposed to do. Plus he would still lick, which it is covered up now, so it isn't that bad but he licks till I wonder if he will get it off or rub it to much.
In the end he is back to just wearing the cone of shame so he won't lick and at night, since he is smart and gets the cone off, he wears both the cone and his doggie diaper. This has been a miserable two weeks for Tuggle, where he thinks that we hate him. He gets yelled at for getting the cone off, for licking, for jumping and for no one is playing with him much so he doesn't get to wild. Thank goodness, Saturday is around the corner and we can have our loveable, happy Tuggle back and we can show him that we really do still love him.
