STAR WARS DAY

So today at our house, it was STAR WARS DAY!!! Yes, this is as big as Christmas at our house. In fact, when Addison woke up this morning she asked me if it was Christmas and I had to tell her it was almost as close as Christmas to Daddy and Ethan but it wasn't. It is the next best thing, STAR WARS DAY!!!
For those that don't know, (and Matthew thinks you live on Mars if you don't) is the day for Star Wars opening night in the theater. Of course, if you know Matthew, he was on getting tickets to the show for opening night. Unfortunately for him, he could only get two tickets because they were going fast and hard to get. Fortunately for me he could only get two tickets, so Matthew and Ethan decided that they would sacrifice and go for us all. I will be honest, though, and say that I am excited that the two biggest Star Wars fans are able to go tonight. The other biggest Star Wars fan is not would love, love, Love to see Star Wars but is not interested in sitting in the theater. Funny enough, I am talking about my sweet three year old (almost four) little girl, Addison. She actually was okay with not going to see Star Wars at the theater at ten o'clock to one in the morning the Daddy and Ethan. I understand her feelings and logic.
I did, though, try to make it fun and exciting. In the morning, the kids woke up to find new Star Wars shirts to wear during the day and a Star Wars snack bag for their lunch. They didn't get to open their Star Wars snack bag though until lunch to keep the suspense. Matthew also bought himself a Star Wars shirt and received this awesome Star Wars snack bag as well. Inside were different snacks like Vader-aid (Red Gator-aid), Padowan Popcorn, Edible Ewokes (Gummy Bears), Vader Veggies (carrots), C3-PO Oreos and a light saber straw. See pictures below. I thought it would be fun and tasty.
When everyone got home from school they also got a great Star Wars dinner. Mommy made Hutt Hotdogs, (with the different condiments they like such as tomatoes, avacadoes, chili, and hot dog bunns), Princess Lays (Lay chips), Yoda Soda (green kool-aid with soda mixed in), Vader Taters (tater tots) and more C3-PO oreos for dessert. The kids and Matthew thought it was cool and it is one of the favorite meals that everyone eats good.
After homework and baths, Ethan, Addison and I played war with some Star Wars playing cards that Daddy got as a gift from a student. We also watched Phineas and Ferb Star Wars while playing it. Mommy then had the kids go to bed a little early in hopes that they would go to sleep and Ethan would get a couple hours of rest before he went to the movie late tonight. But as Mommy also expected, Ethan did not get even a few minutes of sleep and kept coming out to see if it was time to go. Finally, at around 9:30 p.m. Daddy and Ethan set off for the movie. They decided to go an hour early, thinking the lines might be long even though they already have tickets. Mommy's fingers are cross that all goes well and they stay safe. I don't have to worry about if they will enjoy it. Even if the movie is terrible, the suspense has been almost killing them that they won't even care. I take that back, if it is terrible Matthew will be crushed, so I hope it is really good.
This shows, that yes, my family is very weird and nerdy and looking on it, I guess this Mommy eggs it on with all these silly treats, but in the end it is fun and hopefully memorable. GO STAR WARS!!!
