For this Thanksgiving {November 28, 2013} we had the privilege to share it with and at Uncle Greg and Aunt Tara Robinson's house. It was the perfect place to do it because all the family could meet there and her house was so beautiful with the Christmas trees and other gorgeous Christmas decorations.
We of course had a very good Thanksgiving prepared by Grammy Great, Uncle Greg and Mark Watkins. With them doing it, how could we not have a great dinner? My favorite time of the whole day was playing with my nephews and my own children. I was able to be stair buddies with my nephew Terry and I was able to hold Alex. I have such cute nephews, don't you agree?
Like I said I also had fun with my own children and they also had so much fun playing with their cousins. One of the highlights for my kids was going to the movie theaters. It was Ethan 2nd time ever going to the movie and Addison's first time. We were hoping to go see Frost while everyone else saw Thor or Catching Fire but Frost was sold out. We went to Despicable Me 2 at the dollar theater. The kids loved it. I was told that Ethan laughed through the whole thing and Addison was glued to it as well. Grammy also made it a great experience and spoiled them with a movie tray of popcorn, soda and candy. They even liked it so much that they had to sit through the end credits to see the silly minions at the end.
Afterwards, I was myself again, a little dumb, and asked to go to Walmart to pick up a small cartoon of milk for the kids breakfast the next day. We get their and once in the store remember that Walmart was starting their early Black Friday shopping. So it was a little crazy. Okay maybe it was very crazy but we all made it through alive and yes, I was able to get some milk and maybe a few other items that I didn't really need.
We also went to Temple Square to look at the lights. They have been wanting to see Christmas lights and what is better than seeing the temple and beautiful Christmas lights around it? It was very crazy and packed there but it was beautiful. Pappi, Grammy and Ethan also stood in a long line to go see the Christus Statue. Addison at this point was done with it and having a little bit of a fit so Daddy and Mommy stayed behind but was glad that Ethan was able to see such a beautiful statue of our brother, Jesus Christ.
The kids other favorite part of Thanksgiving, (and secretly mine as well) was staying at a hotel. on Wednesday night we stayed at a Marriott hotel and then for Thursday and Friday night we were able to stay at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. Unfortunately they both only had a king size bed and our kids, mainly Addison, takes up the whole bed, so Daddy slept on the floor the first two nights and everyone else was on the bed and then the last night Ethan was thrilled to have a sleep over on a sofa couch in Pappi and Grammy's room, so Addison could sleep on the sofa bed in our room and Daddy and Mommy enjoyed a king bed to themselves. I did want to steal, I mean borrow, the king bed but didn't know how to put it in a a little Saturn car.
Since we were able to stay at a hotel another highlight of the trip was swimming with our cousins in the hotel pool. For some reason I can't figure out how to get my video and pictures transferred from my video memory card. When I figure it out I will post some of them but here is a picture of our cousin Copper swimming with us in the hotel pool. They had a hot tub and a pool. Ethan had lots of fun just jumping in the pool to Pappi. He was tall enough on the shallow end of the pool to jump in by himself and then swim or walk to the stairs. Addison had fun in the pool as well with Daddy and a few times she also tried jumping in the pool as long as she could hold someones fingers before jumping. As you can tell, this thanksgiving was memorable and fun for all.
I am the most thankful that I have such a great family with awesome sisters, brothers, sister-in-laws (consider sisters), brother-in-laws (consider them also as just brothers), grandparents, parents, parents-in-law (my other dad and mom), aunt, uncles, nephews and cousins. As you can tell I have many people that I love. I am especially grateful for my own little family that is growing to fast on me. I have, most days, the perfect kids and I have a great loving and hard working husband and I love them all more than I can express in words. I am sure many of you know exactly how I feel. Thanks to everyone that have been there in my life and have taught me so much. I am thankful that my Father and Heaven placed me in this time of life so I could experience all these blessings as well as trials and that he gave me all of these people around me to be with and love.
