Ethan isn't the only one who had a first week of school. Of course, our awesome English teacher Daddy also had to face life again and started his first day with his students on Monday. But Addison is also starting a home preschool with Mommy as well. This week we didn't do so well because of a few things Mommy needed to get done but we still had fun.
Activities Addison and Mommy did while Ethan was in school:
Monday Addison and I went shopping, hoping to find a few dresses for Addison. She is growing again, which makes Mommy sad and Addison happy. So, of course, time to hit the clothes store. Funny that we didn't find on dress for Addison but we ended up with two pairs of shoes for Addison and a pair of school shoes for Ethan. Addison loves shoes and some how she finds really cheap, clearance shoes. Since they are clearance shoes they are also the most wildest, brightest shoes ever but she always falls in love with them and they always look great on her anyway.
Tuesday was the only day of the week that we did a little schooling by playing games like ABC chutes and ladders, ABC Bingo, organize the fruit loops into colors, throwing fruit loops into paper cups, and Trouble (for number recognition and counting). I am proud to say that Addison could probably go to kindergarten if she improved a few motor skills because she is so smart. She knew all her ABC's. Okay, not perfectly, she did say I was T and I had to help her with W as well but that still is pretty good. She thought organizing the color fruit loops and telling me the colors was yummy more than fun. She didn't know that Mommy was testing her number skills with Trouble but she did surprisingly well. She knew the numbers on the die and she could count and move her marks pretty well. Like most kids her trouble was going to fast with counting and moving at the same time. I actually found out that she can actually count to twenty only needing help with sixteen and seventeen. We also read many books just before getting Ethan. Would it be it a shock to say that she can read!!! Okay, maybe she can read because we have read some of the books a thousand times but she feels she can read and is so excited and that works in my book.
Wednesday, Addison was sad that we didn't even go to Ethan's school, since Ethan took the bus for the first time, so on the walk home from the bus stop, we went to the apartment park and played for a few minutes. It was pretty hot, so we didn't stay long but enough time for Addison to go down the slides a few times and play on the swings, (her most favorite thing to do at the park.) Then at home Mommy and Addison ended up building puzzles and watching the Disney channel. One of Mommy and Addison's favorite things to do is build puzzles, so we probably built ten or more of the twenty-four to fifty piece puzzles together. We didn't do any schooling but we sure had fun building puzzles.
After picking Ethan up from the bus stop, (more details about that in the previous post) we went home and packed a lunch to eat at the playground. The kids thought this the coolest thing every, to eat outside. I have done it before a couple of times with them but I guess it has been a while or they have bad memory because they kept asking to do that again everyday. I told them we could do it often but everyday was a little much, especially when it is still pretty hot outside.

Friday is probably going to be the most boring day for Addison and I. Friday is our cleaning day. We still try to have fun. While we clean room, bathrooms, and floors. Plus the dusting, wiping and moping we listen to Addison's favorite music. THE FRESH BEAT BAND. If you don't know about this group of singers come to our house. We listen to it over and over and over. It's a band meant for teens but like I said in a previous post I have a two year old girl going on thirteen. She even has a mini poster of this band on her bed wall. Anyway, we listen to this band while cleaning. Mommy cleaning and singing, Addison singing, cleaning a little and mostly dancing on the couch and around the table. This time she danced around the table more because she has to wear her brand new sparkle shoes and she can't wear them on the couch. Mommy is so mean.

As you can see, like I said Ethan isn't the only one that has a new change of pace in life. Addison is also learning and growing. Mommy hopes to continue to find fun and challenging things for her kids to do but is a little worried that she won't be able to keep up with her smart family. So far though, it looks like it will be a great year.
