Yes!!! I am very behind. I just remembered that I hadn't written down what happened during our much needed Spring Break and already I hope that I remember the events straight, since I have terrible memory. Like I said, this blog is just for me to remember events in my life and brag about my family a little.
Anyway, to kick off our Spring Break we got to start it with nothing better than a baby blessing. I haven't had the pleasure to live next to any of my sisters/ brother or sister-in-laws/brother-in-laws. This has been very hard since I haven't been an Aunt that long, being the oldest in the family. So it is a highlight, actually it is like Christmas to me, when we get to go see family and I get to play and hold my nieces and nephews. Not to be bias, but I have the best and cutest nieces and nephews ever. During Spring Break was the first time that we meet the newest member of the Watkins family, Myra. She is not just cute but already gorgeous like her Mommy and Daddy. That Sunday after the baby blessing I got to hold her for the first time and she slept the hold time. She is an angel sleeping. Then the next day I held her, I was excited to have her while she was awake. She had lots to tell me and her eyes are beautiful. We think they are a a dark blue shade but who knows. I think when talking she was telling me life was pretty good and she has the most amazing parents, which I couldn't argue because Michael and Felicia are awesome parents and how can you argue with a beautiful baby that seems to know. Yes, my nephews and nieces have me wrapped around their finger and I'm okay with that. I'll be an Aunt with many secrets. It was also fun to talk to Alex and see how much he has grown since I last saw him. Since I was holding Myra a lot, sadly I didn't get as much time with Alex but I am hoping that soon I will be seeing this whole family a lot, if they can just hurry and move closer. Then I just have to convince my sibling and Matthew's other bother to move closer, it won't be easy but I can wish, nag, and dream, right?!!!
Anyway, back to Spring Break. I told you the highlight of the trip for me and I'm sure everyone else but we were able to go do some fun things in Utah. On Monday, Felicia and her kids, Pappi, Grammy and our family went to the Dinosaur Museum. It was fun and the kids seemed to enjoy most of it but in the end we had to admit that Pappi and Matthew probably had the most fun looking at everything and reading all the facts. The kids really did like the first twenty minutes or so but I think it seemed like the same old thing after a while. There were kid friendly things to do though. Ethan had fun playing in the sand and water and making tunnels, barriers and playing with plastic dinosaurs. Grammy, Addison and Alex went off and played with dinosaur toys, and puppets.
On Tuesday, we went to the Hogle Zoo again. It was an even better day because Michael had work off and was able to join us and I think everyone had more fun looking at all the animals. We were more excited to go to this zoo this time because the Safari exhibit was complete, so we could see our favorite animal, the lion, tigers, and leopards. At the Hogle Zoo you sure get your workout walking everywhere but it is so much fun and exciting to see the animals. This time we also got to go on the train ride to see a quick version of the zoo and the kids went on the Carousal. Addison remembered it the last time we came to the zoo a couple years back. It was her favorite part of the zoo then and I think it was the favorite part of the zoo this time and well.
Then Tuesday evening we got a great treat from Grammy-Great. Grammy-Great put together an Easter egg hunt in her back yard for all the cousins to find. Even though the kids were a little tired from the zoo, they were so excited to go see Grammy-Great and have an Easter egg hunt. In fact, before going to Utah, Ethan was asking if we could do an Easter egg hunt for Easter and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to pull on off, so Grammy-Great saved this Mommy. My kids, like every time we are with grandparents, were spoiled by their grandparents again. It was a very pleasant and memorable week.
Unfortunately, Wednesday we had to leave and go back home so Daddy could get some grading done for school. At the same time it was nice to be home and enjoy each other for a few days before having to head back to school. It was even better that we also had General Conference that Saturday and Sunday to watch together. My kids were awesome to let me watch and I felt I did learn and heard many things that I have been pondering on but with bad memory I am excited to reread it when I get it in the Ensign. How could this Spring Break get any better? I don't think it could have. I was physically, mentally, and emotionally feed and satisfied.
