Our Family Halloween

One of the craziest but fun Halloween ever. This year Uncle Michael, Aunt Felicia, Alex and Myra moved the day before Halloween from Utah to close to us. We are all excited that they are here and we will get to see them lots. Also, this Halloween, Daddy was away at a magic tournament in Denver. We dropped Daddy off early in the morning Friday at the airport and wished him luck in winning. So Saturday day, (Halloween) the kids and I had to find ways to entertain ourselves.
Of course, we made sure that we were ready with our costumes, and that we would be ready for our slumber party for later. We also did the usual shopping, hitting a few extra stores, like the mall, were the kids played at the indoor playground. And of course, the dread grocery shopping. After that we read books, played games, watched movies and just hung out around the house. Very impatient for Halloween to start and for family to come over and celebrate with us it was a long day.
Finally, it started to get dark and Pappi, Gammy and Uncle Michael's family arrived to have traditional Halloween Papa Murphy's pizza. Then when the kids "said" the were full, we hurried to get our costumes on and get on with the trick-or-treating. We decided to hit the house we hit last year around Ethan's schools subdivision.
It seemed that not many were doing trick-or-treating this year. It seems to get less and less each year but with my kids that was actually great. Addison only knocked on two houses and then started refusing to going to doors to get candy. Here and there she would go and get a little but she was already tired and grumpy and ready to go. Ethan was the trooper in ring the bell and seeing if anyone answered. He got tired of his big Steve minecraft box head though and even he got tired fast of trick-or treating. We probably only hit a dozen houses. Alex was a trooper as well and seemed to like getting candy for free but is still small and didn't seem to care if we went to more house or not. In the end we weren't out very long and didn't hit many houses but from the trunk-or-treat and the handful of houses we hit, we still seemed to get a lot of candy.
Afterwards, we came back to our apartment and continued the festivities. We did our traditional pinuata, which was a success. We were able to break it open with just the broom handle this time and not have to jump on it or get a hammer. We are getting better. I think in the end we enjoyed eating candy and talking to each other. Espically catching up with Uncle Michael, Aunt Felicia, Alex and Myra. Alex and I have become best buds but Myra I am still trying to get her to come around. It will take awhile but I'm sure it will happen. I AM EXCITED TO BE AN AUNT!!!! I know I have been an aunt for awhile but all my niece and nephews have lived far away and now I have a couple close by to remind me that I am an aunt. It is awesome.

I think we did so much and had so much fun that Addison didn't last in staying up for our slumber party. She feel asleep on the couch while everyone was still there. We left her their since that was where she was going to sleep anyway and when everyone departed, Ethan and I stayed up to watch our movies and eat more candy for the slumber party. We thought we treated ourselves by renting the movie Pixels from redbox but Mommy was not happy with the movie in the end. Not a kid friendly movie. Ethan said he liked it but Mommy did not like the language or a lot of the content suggested in the movie. Then we watched a couple of Netflix shows and around two in the morning Mommy finally decided that we should try to get some sleep so we could be somewhat alert for church tomorrow.  In the end, it was a very successful Halloween with family, candy and movies.
