Shadow Canyon Ward Christmas Party

Our relief society did an excellent job in putting together our ward Christmas party. They did a breakfast early in the morning. In fact, the kids in primary whined a little that they had to be up by 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday to get a good breakfast and go to this ward Christmas party but it was worth it. The relief society didn't hold back on breakfast either. They did eggs, bacon, pancakes, muffins, orange juice and milk. For a mother that has picky kids, it was perfect because their was something that everyone liked.
The relief society did ask us as a primary to get together individuals to act out the nativity story. So we had our primary kids get dressed up and go on stage doing the nativity while one of our little girls narrated it for us. We also sang songs in between each person. It was very well put together and as you can tell by the pictures, they nativity scenery was amazing. I think our primary president had her brother make it and it was georgous. It is awesome that so many want to help out in teaching our children the real mean of Christmas. Our primary was also in charge of singing "I Wonder When He Comes Again" as the last song, and I am proud to say they all did an amazing job. It was well presented and you could feel the Spirit strongly.
Then we sang a few fun Christmas songs while we waited for a visitor to show up. Low and behold Santa ended up showing up to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and give all the kids a goody bag. This Santa was phenomenal. He spent time with each one, calling them by name, asking what the real meaning of Christmas and then asking what they wanted for Christmas. He would also ask the parents if the kids were good this year for him to come visit. The kids all love him, and as you see in the pictures, even my little Addison, who usually cries on Santa's lap was brave enough to sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted. She was even proud that Santa picked her as one of the helpers to ring his sleigh bells as they walked from the gym to the primary room.
Like I said, this was a well put together ward Christmas program that I am sure was stressful and had a lot of busy hands at work, but we appreciated it and loved it.
