Since this was our first Thanksgiving alone, this was also my first time doing a whole Thanksgiving dinner. I was a little nervous, but since it was just us, it was not to stressful and Matthew knew his wife was going to be doing a lot of trial and error. Even though it was the first time I did get approval from Matthew, saying that everything turned out really good. We had the traditional turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, celery with cheese, strawberry jello squares, rolls, and (my favorite) pumpkin pie. Ethan's favorite and pretty much all he ate was the strawberry jello. Addison loved the mashed potatoes and discovered that she loves pumpkin pie. Plain pumpkin pie, not with whip cream (she hates whip cream) and not with ice-cream, just plain. She was very adamant about this. She loves it so much that she is asking we make it for family night treat again. Sadly, it is not her turn for treats this coming family night. Matthew said he loves everything. I loved it all as well but I love pumpkin pie and probably ate most of it. (I know, that's not going to help me loose pounds, but it's Thanksgiving.)
We also finished our grateful tree, which in the end looks great and showed us how much we have. Sadly, we weren't faithful with putting up leaves everyday, so it could have had more and been bigger but this goes to show us how much we do have. The kids had so much fun thinking of things to write and draw on those leaves and it is interesting what they think of to be grateful for. I am grateful that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ let me have the chance to marry a wonderful man and let me raise to beautiful children of God.
